Monochromatic Happy Wishes

This week's challenge at SUO Challenges is to make a paper-craft project using just one color (plus neutrals).  Any shade or hue of green would normally be the last thing I would reach for with this type of challenge, but I've really been drawn to this print in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Pack.  Despite my lack of enthusiasm for all things green, I'm happy with the way this turned out!

The Happy Wishes stamp set is one of the stamp sets you can choose for FREE with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  With 16 stamps, this set is the most versatile set in the SAB brochure, making it a must have!

Card Recipe

Scroll to the bottom of this post to see the full supply list.
  • Tranquil Tide card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Delightful Daisy DSP: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Tranquil Tide: 4 1/8" x 2 1/4"
  • Whisper White: 4 1/8" x 2 3/8"

Tips to Recreate This Card

  • I stamped the 'Happy' sentiment in Tranquil Tide and then lined up the word 'birthday' and stamped in the same color.  Use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the best placement!
  • All layers of this card are attached with SNAIL Adhesive.
  • The Whisper White Baker's Twin was wrapped around the entire card base and tied in a knot.  A second knot was made to hold the tassel in place.
  • I felt the card needed just a little bit more bling so I added three gold Metallic Enamel Shapes in the lower right corner.  I find it easier to space them evenly by first adhering the two outer shapes and then centering the middle one.
