No Bones About It Valentine

No Bones About It is probably not the first stamp set you would reach for to make a Valentine, unless you have a dinosaur-loving niece like I do!

Card Recipe

This card was inspired by the current sketch at Fab Friday.

  • Whisper White Thick card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Pink Pirouette: 4 1/16" x 5 5/16"
  • Silver Glimmer Paper: 1/4" x 4 1/16"
  • Real Red: 2" x 4 1/16"
  • Whisper White: scrap (approximately 4" x 4" square)

Color Combination

Even though my stamp set is not a traditional Valentine design, I chose to stick with the traditional color combination: Pink Pirouette, Real Red, and Whisper White with some glitter and rhinestones.

Tips & Tricks to Recreate this Card

  • I started by stampings the dinosaur and then cutting with the heart die.   I added the sentiment last.  The dinosaur body was stamped with Pink Pirouette and the bones and sentiment with Real Red.
  • The common method of stamping two-step stamps starts with the lighter color and then stamping the darker.  If you have a hard time lining up your stamps, try switching it around!  I find it easier to line up my stamps when I start with the darker color first.
