Snowflake Sentiments - 1st Christmas Card for 2018!

Yep, you are seeing that right.  I have made my first card for 2018!  I am normally scrambling at the last minute to make more cards while my husband is signing and addressing.  This year my goal is to have at least fifty made before the end of November.  We'll see how that goes!

The inspiration for this card came from Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, where the challenge this week was to use embossing on a card.  I think this is my first time playing along with this challenge, but I'm hoping that following along on a regular basis will help me reach my goal.

Card Recipe

(I realize my card measurements are a bit odd.  It came about with a little trial and error!)
  • Very Vanilla Thick card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Real Red: 5 1/16" x 3 13/16"
  • Very Vanilla: 4 7/8" x 3 5/8" (4 pieces)
  • Real Red: 3 3/16" x 2 3/16"
  • Very Vanilla: 3" x 2"

Tips & Tricks

  • I began this card by embossing the 4 pieces of Very Vanilla card stock, each with one of my favorite Christmas/winter themed embossing folders.
  • I then cut each piece into 4 panels.  I trimmed 1 1/2" inches on the left side and 1 1/2" inches from the bottom.  This will give you 16 pieces that can be arranged to make 4 similar cards.
  • The sentiment was stamped in Real Red and layered on Real Red card stock before being adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • I attached 3 Pearl Jewels to add just a little bit of bling.
