Star of Light for Watercooler Wednesday

This week's challenge at Watercooler Wednesday is "All About Christmas."  Since Christmas cards are my favorite cards to make and I'm determined to make one Christmas card a week this year, this challenge was right up my alley!
I actually started this card last week for another challenge which was to make a Christmas card using red and turquoise.  But, as life goes, more important things came up and I had to take a few days away from crafting.  So I'm glad that this challenge came up and motivated me to finish it!

Card Recipe

Scroll to the bottom of this post for a complete supply list.

  • Bermuda Bay card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Read Red: 3 15/16" x 5 3/16"
  • Whisper White: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Pool Party: scrap
  • Bermuda Bay: scrap

Tips & Tricks to Recreate this Card

  • I began by cutting out the solid star piece.  I then laid it on the Whisper White cardstock to use as a guide as I stamped the star's rays with Pool Party ink.
  • The Tombow Liquid Multipurpose Glue is my favorite go-to adhesive for layering die cut pieces, such as the two pieces for the star.  It does not dry immediately, giving you time to slide the two pieces together and get them perfectly aligned.  Just keep in mind that a little bit goes a long way!
  • To add some sparkle to my card, I tied Silver Baker's Twine around the top two layers and added a Clear Faceted Gem to the center of the star.

  1. Hi Lisa, love the unconventional Christmas colours you've used with the Star of Light bundle! That combination of Bermuda Bay and Pool Party makes the star simply "pop" off the page. Adding the red as well as the twine really steps it up. Love it! Thanks so much for joining the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  2. Lisa thanks so much for sharing with us for our "All About Christmas" challenge at this weeks Watercooler Wednesday. Your Bermuda Bay rendition of the Star of Light card is beautiful and bold. Great use of the colours and nicely set up.
