Adorable Hedgehugs Valentine

These hedgehogs make the most adorable Valentine greetings!  These guys are from the Hedgehugs stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog and will be available through May.

Tips & Tricks to Recreate this Card

  • I used a variation on the eclipse technique on this card.  On most eclipse cards that you see, the die cut piece is raised using Stampin' Dimensionals so that the cardstock underneath shows through.  I wanted the Pink Pirouette to show through, but didn't want to change the order of the layers.  So instead of using Dimensionals, I cut 6 Pink Pirouette hearts and stacked them underneath the stamped heart.  Using liquid glue makes it easy to slide the hearts into place.
  • The hedgehogs and squirrel are stamped in Soft Suede and then colored with the Crumb Cake Light Stampin' Blend marker.  I also added a small Pink Pirouette circle to give them rosy cheeks.  The hedgehog's flower was colored with the Pink Pirouette Dark Stampin' Blend marker.
  • Stampin' Write markers were used to color the stamps for the bird on the branch and the flower on the inside of the card.  Use the brush tip to add ink directly on the rubber stamp, starting with the lightest color and finishing with the darkest.

Don't forget to stamp the inside of your card!
