Cake Soiree Best Wishes

The Sweet Soiree suite was the first suite that I fell in love with in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.  The metallic accents in the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP are absolute gorgeous.  And the coordinating Embellishment kit has beautiful elements to add to your project.
This week's challenge at Watercooler Wednesday is Anything Goes!

  • Silver Foil: 3 15/16" x 5 3/16"

Tips & Tricks to Recreate this Card

This card started out pretty basic, but I felt from the beginning that something was missing.  When this happens, I usually lay the card aside, but still in sight.  The longer it sat on my desk, the more embellishments I added to it!  I didn't realize how many supplies I used on this card until I made the supply list!

  • I stamped the cake image on scrap Pink Pirouette card stock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I then cut out the cake with the coordinating die.
  • The sentiment was also stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder.  This is punched with the Classic Label Punch.
  • The silver frame was cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I used two sized of the squares, laying the smaller one inside the larger.  I used a small piece of washi tape to keep the dies in place while I ran them through the Big Shot.  Hold onto the inside square for another project!
  • The vellum leaves are part of the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit.  The Petal Passion Embellishment (flower) is attached with a glue dot.

  1. Hi Lisa, how beautifully you've used that Sweet Soiree Suite! It's easy to tell from the details and care you've taken with the card, just how much you love all the products in the Suite. I love the background paper and the colours in your card. Great job layering all those wonderful details and keeping them contained with that open stitched frame. Nicely done! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
