Ink & Share Blog Hop: Sale-A-Bration

Welcome to the first ever Ink & Share Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who have teamed up to offer a monthly blog hop to share what we have been creating with Stampin' Up!'s fabulous products.  This month we are focusing on Sale-A-Bration, SU!'s best promotion of the year!  At the end of this post, you will find a next button to take you to the next blog, as well as a list of all participants in case you get lost along the way.

Now let's move on to what you are really here for - my projects!

I made two projects today, both using the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This collections of papers is semi-glossy heavier weight DSP with foil accents.  The white backgrounds make it perfect to color using your favorite coloring tools! The heavier weight of the paper also makes it suitable for boxes and gift tags.

The background of the first card was colored with the Stampin' Blends. (Have I mentioned by recent addiction to the Blends? I can't seem to put them down!)  Because of the gloss on this paper, the Blends react a little different than with other papers.  It is easy to put down layers of ink using only one shade of the colors rather than two.  I wanted my cards to showcase the DSP, so I just added a die cut oval, stamped with a sentiment, over a simple piece of ribbon.

For my second card I added ink to the DSP with a sponge brayer.  I repeatedly rolled Elegant Eggplant ink on the DSP until I achieved the shade that I was happy with.  The foil resists the ink, allowing the silver and gold design to shine through.  The DSP is layered on Silver Foil paper and an Elegant Eggplant card base.  I love how this card turned out!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I appreciate each and every visit!  I hope you have been inspired to stamp something today!  If you live within the United States and do not already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love the opportunity to be your creative coach!   Please take a moment to leave me a comment and let me know you were here.  And, as always, I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about these cards or any Stampin' Up! product.

Happy Stampin!
