Ink & Share Blog Hop: Summer

Welcome to this month's Ink & Share Blog Hop.  As you work your way through the hop, you will se  projects from SU! demonstrators featuring a summer theme.  The new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog has so many choices that work with this theme that I had a hard time picking which stamp set to use.

When I was young my summers were filled with time at my grandparent's cottage.  I spent a lot of time on or in the water boating, swimming, skiing, and fishing.  With this in mind I decided to go with a water theme for today's card.  The Lilypad Lake stamp set offers just the right images.

After stamping the sail boats, I used the Stampin' Write markers to add color to the sails.  The background DSP on my card comes from the Tranquil Tide DSP pack.

The label die that is included in the Lilypad Lake bundle is too long for the sentiment I chose.  That was easy to fix though!

I first stamped the sentiment and then die cut it with the the sentiment off to the right side.  I then lined up the die and cut it a second time with the left edge of the die lined up with the left side of the sentiment.  This technique can be used to shorten the length of most label dies.

If you follow my blog or Facebook page, you may have noticed my absence lately.  I haven't meant to cut back on my stamping but sometime life gets in the way. So where have I been?  I had surgery on my stomach in early May.  I was expecting to quickly jump back into my normal routine but so far that hasn't been the case.  I just can't seem to get my energy or motivation back.  One of these days I will get back to stamping more regularly so be sure to keep checking back or subscribe to my blog or Facebook page (links on the right) so you don't miss anything!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I appreciate each and every visit!  I hope you have been inspired to stamp something today!   Please take a moment to leave me a comment and let me know you were here.  I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about these cards or any Stampin' Up! product. Don't forget to click on the Next button to hop on over to Sandrine's blog. There is a roll call list below in case you get lost along the way.

Happy Stampin!
