I used the Christmas Lodge Stamp set to make this z-fold Christmas card. The main image is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla card stock. The greeting is stamped in Garden Green. To add a little sparkle to the snow, I added Dazzling Diamonds to the rooftop of the lodge.

Elements of Style En Francais

I'm falling in love with Calypso Coral. And I especially love it paired with Early Espresso! For the main image of this card I first stamped En Francais in Crumb Cake on scrap paper and then on my Very Vanilla card stock. I ended up with a light, uneven image - which is exactly what I wanted! I then stamped the large floral image from Elements of Style in Calypso Coral. The sentiment is framed with layers of various punches and a few pearls.

The stamp set I used for this card is a hostess set called Happiest Birthday Wishes. I find myself reaching for this set over and over again.

This card has lots of layers! The So Saffron stripe paper is from the Just Add Cake designer series paper. The Pool Party polka dots is from the 2010-2013 In-Color designer series paper stack.

Create a Cupcake Birthday Class Project

I used Stampin' Up!'s Cupcake builder punch to create the adorable cupcake for this card. I added a Real Red heart topped off with a heart shaped Bitty button. These little buttons are a great way to used buttons without adding a lot of bulk or weight to your card.
To add texture to the background, I used the Snow Burst embossing folder. Don't let the name of this embossing folder fool you! It works for all types of cards - not just those with a winter theme!

Gently Falling Mother of Pearl

This is a card that I demonstrated at a recent workshop. The main image uses the Faux Mother of Pearl technique. I love the shimmer this technique adds to a card!
To do this technique, I first dabbed Frost White Shimmer Paint onto my Whisper White card stock using a bunched up cellophane bag. After the shimmer paint dried, I then sponged Sahara Sand ink with a Stampin' Sponge. The shimmer paint 'resists' the ink, letting the shimmer shine through! I then used a solid leaf image from Gently Falling and stamped all over. To finish it off, I used Jet Black StazOn ink to stamp the leaf outlines. StazOn ink is great for stamping on surfaces that would normally resist the die ink.

Occasions Class Projects

One of my customers wanted to host a stamping class for her friends and coworkers. She wanted to make cards for a few different occasions. These are the cards we made. I had a great time stamping with her friends! I hope her guests enjoyed themselves too!

This was my favorite card that we made that day. I love the flowers stamped on the First Edition DSP and the color combination that we used.

The Sunflower seemed to be the favorite stamp of the day. I even sold a few! This was another simple card to make. I like the effect of the sunflower stamped on the Natural White card stock, especially paired off with my favorite designer paper ever!

Gently Falling is another new stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog. I absolutely love this one! It's a two-step stamp set, however I only used the outline stamps for this card. I stamped the leaves with VersaMark on Very Vanilla card stock and then embossed them with Pewter embossing power (also new in the Holiday Mini). I finished off the card with some pearls and Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon.

I used this months sketch at Craft Project Central for this card. I used my new favorite embossing folder for this card! I love the deep textures that the embossing folders make. My punched snowflake is actually from the Triple Layer Doily punch. I layered a small circle of Cherry Cobbler under the center (to hide the dimensional) and added a pearl to add a little bling.

Lunchtime Triple Treat Flower - TSSC189

I love that Stampin' Up! is keeping the In-Colors around for two years now. I'm in love with these colors and wasn't ready to give them up!
I made this card for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. I couldn't decide which embossing folder to use on the Pear Pizzazz card stock. To make to decision easier, I decided to emboss two pieces! The stamp I used is Triple Treat Flower. It's sold as an individual stamp and it coordinates with two punches. I stamped the image twice - one in Concord Crush and the other Peach Parfait. I punched the entire image with the Fancy Flower punch and then the center with the 5 Petal Flower punch. The center could also be punched with the 1/2" circle punch but I choose to use a big brad for the center.

I used the Letters to Santa designer paper for my color combination. I love this print and think it would work great for a non-Christmas card too! No-stamp Sketch Challenge with another Sneak Peek

Stamping 411 has two sketches for this week's challenge. This is my card for the second sketch. I didn't do any stamping on this card. The background is embossed with the new embossing folder from the Holiday Mini. The hearts are punched using the Heart-to-Heart punch. I couldn't go all blue for my card so I added an extra little heart in Calypso Coral.

I made this card using the color combo challenge at Picture Perfect Creations. I love using color challenges because it gets me using colors that I often neglect. Bravo Burgundy is one of those colors. It's a very pretty color but I some times forget about it!

This week's challenge at A La Card Monkey was a sketch challenge combined with a sympathy/thinking of you theme. I'm not sure if this card works as a sympathy card, but definitely for thinking of you. The designer paper is Beau Chateau from the new Idea Book & Catalog. It may be one of my favorites (but I say that about everything SU, don't I?) I love the soft colors and the vintage look of this paper.

Day of Gratitude Christmas

At first glance the Day of Gratitude stamp set appears to be for fall or Thanksgiving stamping. But I think this large medallion resembles a snowflake and makes a great Christmas card! Don't you agree?

I stamped the medallion with VersaMark on Whisper White card stock and then embossed it with silver embossing powder. After cutting it out, I sponged Baja Breeze ink over the image.

I should have titled this card "Color Challenge Gone Wrong!" I was originally making this card for a color challenge, but rather than looking at the colors in the challenge, I did it from memory! Kicking It Old Style

I belong to a small Facebook group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. We were given a challenge to pull out our oldest Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and copy a card from it, using current products. My oldest catalog isn't very old - it's from 2008. That's how new I am to stamping! I signed up to be a demonstrator about 2 months after I stamped my first card!

I updated the original card by using the In-Color Blushing Bride. I also used the new stamp set, Pretty Postage and added some pearls. I couldn't resist adding a little sponging around the edges!

I used a different card size for the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch. The finished card size is 6-5/8" x 3-1/4" and fits Stampin' Up!'s small open ended envelope. I combined the sketch challenge with today's Picture Perfect Creations Color combo. Today's colors are More Mustard, Bashful Blue and Peach Parfait. I stamped a leaf in each of the colors and the cut them out. The card looked like it still needed a little something more, so I ran the Whisper White card stock through my big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder. I love the results!

I made this card for this week's Clean and Simple Stamping sketch. I also used the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. This weeks colors are Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive. I love the combination! I used my favorite Beautiful Wings embosslit to make the butterflies and used the rhinestones to add a little bling. The Daffodil Delight piece is the Decorative Label punch. I cut it in half to make the edges peek out the top and bottom of the First Edition DSP.

Awash with Flowers Sketch Frenzy

Happy Friday night everyone! This is the card I made for this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge. I used the smallest flowers from Awash with Flowers and stamped across the main image. I then sponged around the edges and roughed them up a bit. I sprayed the Luck Limeade piece with Elegant Eggplant ink, using my color spritzer and Stampin' Write marker. I also sponged and distressed the edges of this piece. Once you get the hang of the color spritzer, it is so much fun to play with!

Pennant Parade Congratulations

This week's challenge at A La Card Monkey is to use pennants. I did a stamping night for a small group of ladies tonight and this is one of the cards we made. The pennants are stamped and then punched using the NEW Pennants builder punch. It punches both the straight edge pennant and the scalloped one. That's like getting two punches for the price of one! We of coarse had to add a rhinestone to each one for a little bling!

Pretty Postage

I wasn't sure about ordering this set, but once I saw a few cards with it, I knew I had to have it! It is much more versatile that I first thought it would be. For this card, the postage stamp is stamped four times on Very Vanilla card stock and then punched out with the new Postage Stamp punch. I adhered them to a piece of Early Espresso card stock and sponged the edges with Soft Suede Classic ink. The background image is En Francais in Soft Suede stamped on Crumb Cake card stock. I added a Cherry Cobbler butterfly to add some color.

It's a little early for Halloween, but after placing my pre-order for the Holiday Mini today, I'm ready for fall and winter stamping! I made this card for the sketch challenge at Stamping 411.

My mom and I got together today to make few cards. This card uses the new Sunflower background stamp. I love this stamp!

Here is some more of what we made today. We used a mixture of current and retired Stampin' Up! products. I made this next card using Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I can't believe this was my first time using them! Why did I wait so long? I love the watercolor effect and will be using them more often.

My mom started this card but didn't like it. I grabbed it and finished it up. I love the way it turned out. I think everything is current on this one except the sentiment.

This was my favorite card that I made today. After stamping the flower, I sprayed the Whisper White card stock with Smooch Spritz. It so shiny!

Sail Away

I always have a hard time coming up with ideas for masculine cards. But, when I saw this stamp in the Summer Mini Catalog, I knew it would be great for the men that I make cards for. To make the background behind the sail boat, I inked one of Stampin' Up's clear blocks with Bashful Blue ink. I then stamped the sail boat in VersaMark and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.
The Designer Series Paper I used is now retired, but this project could be easily duplicated by substituting one of the Crump Cake DSPs from the Neutral Designer Series Paper pack.

The Bella Rose Designer Series Paper was retired around the same time that I became a demonstrator. It was my favorite paper is the catalog at the time and I was sad to see it go before I had a chance to buy it.

I was very happy to see that Stampin' Up! has recently brought it back in a digital format! The colors in this set include Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red. The digital paper can be downloaded for use with My Digital Studio or can be used with other programs.

Sketch Frenzy Friday (on Wednesday!)

I found another sketch challenge website, started by some fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators. This is the card that I made for Sketch Frenzy Friday's sketch.

For the main image on this card, I first dabbed Champagne Mist shimmer paint on my Very Vanilla card stock. After giving that time to dry, I sponged Pretty in Pink ink over the card stock. I stamped the flower image in StazOn ink colored the flowers and leaves using a blender pen and ink for the ink pads. I love how shimmery this turned out! The picture doesn't do it justice!

Clean & Simple Floral Fusion

First, I apologize for the picture quality. My camera seems to have gone AWOL and the iPod doesn't quite cut it!

This card is made from a sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping. I used Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzaz from the 2010 In-Colors. (I'm so glad they stick around for two years now. I'm not ready to give them up after just one.) I paired the In-Colors up with Marina Mist and Perfect Plum.

I purchased the Floral Fusion die quite a while ago, but I think this is the first time I've used it on a card. I'll be using this more often! It cuts three flowers, which a layered together. I also added a silver 5/16" brad in the center of the flower.

Welcome to my Stampin' blog!

I joined Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator in December of 2008 and I have loved every moment of it. This past September I decided to go back to school to finish my degree and had to make the difficult decision to leave Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator. I thought I would be satisfied being just an SU! customer, but when I saw the new catalog I knew I needed to sign back up! (Besides, I need to take a study break once in a while, right?) I took advantage of the $99 starter kit that is available during July. (I love that it can be customized so I was able to get some of the new colors!).

Though I won't be blogging everyday, I'm anxious to get stamping and post some new projects soon!

Twas the night before Christmas, I’m glued to the tree.
I’m wondering what Santa brought just for me.

Upsy Daisy on Faux Silk

Autumn Splendor

Another challenge card for today! This card is based on the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts. I used Autumn Splendor again. For not liking this set when I ordered it, I sure get alot of use from it. I love the detail that it stamps on the leaves. I stamped the leaves in VersaMark and then embossed with gold embossing powder. The edges of the Not Quite Navy and Chocolate Chip layers are distressed with paper snips.

Here's another sketch from Stamping 411. Sketches are a great starting point for card making. For this card I used the new Pawsitively Prints designer series paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I stamped the bear from Beary Best friends and colored him in with my Stampin' Write Markers. Stampin' Up!'s colors makes color coordination so easy. I never have to worry about finding the right shade of card stock to go with my favorite printed paper. SU! matches it for me! The balloons on the card are stamped on the Pumpkin Pie card stock and then stamped on So Saffron and Ballet Blue cardstock. I punched them out with a 3/4" circle punch and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I used two challenges to make this card today. The first is the color combo from Dive Coffee Break Designs. The second is the sketch from Clean & Simple. I think they worked great together! The butterflies are stamped in Rose Red. I stamped the three images without re-inking the stamp in between. Great way to get three colors from one ink pad!

Winter Post

This is my first card using Stampin' Up!'s new shimmer paint from the Holiday Mini Catalog. To stamp the reindeer, I first inked the stamp with Ruby Red classic ink and then, using a sponge dauber, I sponged Champagne Mist shimmer paint on the stamp and then stamped. I love the shimmery effect if leaves! I also sponged some of the shimmer paint on my Kraft Taffeta Ribbon. When using the paint on fabric, the manufacturer recommends heat setting it. I used my heat gun. Just be careful not to burn the taffeta. The layout for this card is from Stampers 411.

The More the Merrier

I love decorating for the holidays with snowmen. These cute little guys are stamped with Jet Black StazOn and then colored with Stampin' Write Markers. I wanted to add a little sparkle to the card so I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the snow and a little on the snowmen's hats. Greenhouse Garden

To make the larger flower on this card, I first inked up my stamp in Rich Razzleberry ink and them stamped it on scrap paper to remove most of the ink. Then I rolled the edges of the stamp in the same color before stamping it on the cardstock. I did the same for the smaller flower using Melon Mambo ink.

Rock & Roll Butterfly

The background of the butterfly is stamped using the Rock & Roll technique. I first inked the stamp in So Saffron and rolled the stamp in Ruby Red to ink just the edges of the rubber. The detail of the butterfly is then stamped in Chocolate Chip.

Greenhouse Garden is one of Stampin' Up! two-step stamping sets. The flower is first stamped in a lighter color and then the detail of the flower is stamped in a darker color. Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig makes it easy to line up the stamps!
I added a little sparkle to the card by using the detail stamp from another flower in this set and stamped it on the background with Versamark and the embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
