Petal Passion DSP: 4 Cards

I am absolutely in love with the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalog!  It is beautiful as it is, but there is also so much you can do with it to add some color and variety.  For this card, I added color with the Stampin' Blends.  (I should probably warn you now that once I got started coloring, I couldn't stop and may have gotten a little carried away for this post!)

If you love this paper as much as I do, be sure to place your order soon. This paper will only be available through May.

Card Recipe

The measurements are the same for each the cards.  I just made changes to the cardstock, marker, and ribbon colors.  See the supply lists at the bottom of this post for colors of each card.

  • Card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Cardstock layer: 5 3/16" x 3 15/16"
  • DSP layer: 5" x 3 3/4"
  • Cardstock scrap for embossed sentiment and die cut

Tips & Tricks to Recreate these Cards

  •  I started by coloring the Designer Series Paper with the Stampin' Blends.  For the Pool Party card (#2) I put the color down flat with no attempts to add any shading.  I added some shading to the two Crumb Cake cards, using the gray areas as my guide.
  • The sentiment was stamped using Versamark and then heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  After embossing, I die cut the sentiment with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • To attached the ribbon, I put down a line of Fast Fuse and then laid the ribbon down in a zig zag pattern. TIP: If there is a lot of exposed adhesive remaining, tap it with the Embossing Buddy to remove the stickiness.
  • The sentiment is attached on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.
