Welcome to this month's Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month we were challenged to create a project with a water theme. This could include lake, snow, rain, beverages, etc. I chose to go with a lake scene:
I just love the lighthouse image in the High Tide stamp set! The lighthouse reminds me of my younger days, hanging out on the beaches and parks on Lake Michigan.
All of the images in this set make it so easy to create a lighthouse scene. In fact, playing with them makes me feel a bit like an artist (which I am NOT)!
A couple tips to recreate this card:
- To give the sand more depth, I first stamped the image in Crumb Cake. I then cleaned my stamp and used a sponge to add some Soft Suede ink to the stamp and stamped a second time. The Stamparatus makes it so easy to create a two-toned sand!
- I first stamped the lighthouse base in Gray Granite. I then added the second lighthouse image in Real Red. The Gray Granite adds a shadow under the red, giving the lighthouse a more 3-D look.
- After stamping the lighthouse and sand, I then stamped those to stamps on a sticky note. I cut out the image and then used the sticky note as a mask to cover up the lighthouse and sand before stamping the water.
